New Venue to Help Your Resume Go “Live”

Yes, I know that sounds strange, and some of you are already doing the video resume thing, but I like the word “live” better. I usually don’t recommend doing a video resume as a replacement to doing a professional document, however, there could be a compromise worth checking out.
With www.helloworld.com, (for as little as about $10 a month) you can send a video e-mail that introduces your attached resume without you having to verbalize your entire work history. In some cases, it can serve as a sort of cover letter. However, remember, most of the hiring agents out there still may need to share resumes on candidates with other staffers — write notes on resumes, and so forth, so don’t get carried away with your video intro.
The warning for doing anything “video” is to make sure your surroundings don’t say too much about you, that you can speak clearly, and that the quality of what you are doing comes through. You can always get someone to help you with a written resume, but video is all you, babe.
Work it if it works for you.
